Despicable scam targets the bereaved
As if these scammers couldn’t stoop any lower, they’ve started going after those who’ve recently lost loved ones. There’s a new email popping up in inboxes that tries to dupe emotionally vulnerable folks into clicking a link loaded with malware.

If you ever see an unsolicited message like this, you must not click any link inside. Those links will take you to a domain where viruses and malware will infect your computer.
It’s easy to spot tricks like this. This email will typically come to you completely unsolicited. That’s your first warning sign. You’ll also notice the email doesn’t name the deceased. These cybercriminals don’t actually know your friend, and they’re counting on you to be curious.

If you need more proof, hover your mouse over the link, but do NOT click it. This particular email link would have taken you to a third party website, not any domain associated with the funeral home. Keep in mind, the scammers could be using a real funeral home’s name and logo. Be wary.
