Heart-warming viral video: Houston-area cop throws football around with kid
Posted on January 20, 2014 by Amanda Wilkins
Here’s a nice little video for the day: A police officer in Rosenberg, Texas (outside of Houston), sees a kid by himself, fiddling with a football, and decides to take some time out of his day to play a little catch.
The dash-cam video of Sgt. Ariel Soltura tossing the football around with the young man has gone viral. It’s heart-warming to see a viral dash-cam video that doesn’t involve something exploding or someone acting like an idiot.
When Soltura spotted the kid and motioned to him to throw the ball, he told Houston’s KTRK TV station “his face lit up, and he was ready to play. At that time, he and I both connected. We began to throw the football. You can see that I’m obviously trying to get him to go along, and so we’re just playing a game of catch, and it was awesome.”
Awesome, indeed.
