WOW! OMG (sorry)! Just watched the 2007 documentary on Frontline called "The Undertaking." As a parent it was very difficult, almost impossible, to watch the portion on the dying 24 month old child. He suffered from a rare genetic syndrome called CFC Syndrome(?). Crazy sad. The eloquence of the young mother is beyond words!
The balance of the documentary basically is a strong argument and appeal to preplan and prepay for one's final arrangements. Do it! It's expensive to die. When death occurs you want to grieve. You don't want to be making tough decisions during a very emotional time. Preplanning is a great gift to your loved ones. DO IT!! Prepare.
"Where death means nothing, life is meaningless." Poet and Undertaker Thomas Lynch
"Having someone die that you know is always more than you think it's gonna be. It's just the most immediate and real experience that you can have. When death really happens it's a reality you're not prepared for until it comes." son speaking of his deceased father
Deathternity talks about all things death related. There are 1 million+ owned graves in cemeteries in America that people will not use. Cemeteries do not buy graves back. I would encourage people to begin thinking about either selling or buying these graves at a deep discount to what your cemetery charges. Or you can donate unused graves for a tax deduction. If I can help you with this please contact me here, email me at deathternity@gmail.com, or call me at 215-341-8745. My fees vary.
