The 2004 documentary "Last Letters Home: Voices" is terribly poignant: "Grieving families across the U.S. read correspondences and share pictures from loved ones killed while serving with the military in the war in Iraq."
Each of the soldiers killed here is special. They are more than a name and date of birth-date of death. To hear here how their deaths affected their families and loved ones is very moving. It's very sad, mostly. Many of the brutal, sad deaths turn my stomach. WHY did they have to be killed?!
"When you open your door and you see two uniforms and a chaplain, no one needs to say anything."
-Mother of 21 year old soldier killed in Iraq. It was her birthday when the 2 uniforms showed up. She was expecting to hear from her son. Instead there was a knock on the door.
Many others say that the killing of loved ones changes your life forever. One said, "I lost part of my soul."
An interesting movie also is Lions For LAMBS. It stars Robert Redford, Meryl Streep and Tom Cruise. This 2007 movie examines the U.S. War on Terror. It will grab your attention and wake you up.
Deathternity talks about all things death related. There are 1 million+ owned graves in cemeteries in America that people will not use. Cemeteries do not buy graves back. I would encourage people to begin thinking about either selling or buying these graves at a deep discount to what your cemetery charges. Or you can donate unused graves for a tax deduction. If I can help you with this please contact me here, email me at deathternity@gmail.com, or call me at 215-341-8745. My fees vary.
