British artists Jamie Wardley and Andy Moss accompanied bynumerous volunteers, took to the beaches of Normandy with rakes and stencils in hand to etch 9,000 silhouettes representing fallen people into the sand.Titled The Fallen 9000, the piece is meant as a stark visual reminder of the civilians, Germans and allied forces who died during the D-Day beach landings at Arromanches on June 6, 1944 during WWII. The original team consisted of 60 volunteers, but as word spread nearly 500 additional local residents arrived to help with the temporary installation that lasted only a few hours before being washed away by the tide.
Deathternity talks about all things death related. There are 1 million+ owned graves in cemeteries in America that people will not use. Cemeteries do not buy graves back. I would encourage people to begin thinking about either selling or buying these graves at a deep discount to what your cemetery charges. Or you can donate unused graves for a tax deduction. If I can help you with this please contact me here, email me at deathternity@gmail.com, or call me at 215-341-8745. My fees vary.

276 Soldiers Killed Saved American Army Battle Of Brooklyn
After/during the Battle of Brooklyn on August 27, 1776 Washington's army amazingly escaped. It's considered a bit of a miracle and much surprised the British. Some, including David McCullough, call it the most important moment/battle of the Revolutionary War. If Washington's army had not escaped the British probably would have won the war then and there. "Soldiers from the First Maryland Regiment under Col. William Smallwood" are American heroes as they saved Washington's army. "Vastly outnumbered, they launched a series of counterattacks that stymied rapidly advancing British forces." "These soldiers saved the Revolution ." "As many as 256 Maryland soldiers, almost two-thirds or the regiment, were killed." "They really did sacrifice themselves...They knew going in they didn't have a great chance of coming out." No one now knows for sure where the mass grave these soldiers are buried in is located exactly. Many feel that these soldiers "deserve the same level of veneration accorded the military cemeteries at Gettysburg and Normandy."
